Would you like to join the leading international intergovernmental organisation?
NATO is modernising the networks its command structure runs on, and every new system has to be proven secure before it goes live. That's where you come in. As a Cyber Security Accreditation Specialist you'll be the trusted advisor who guides major systems through security accreditation — from the first risk assessment to the sign-off that lets them operate.
You'll sit at the crossroads between the project teams and the security accreditation authorities, turning complex risk into clear recommendations and making sure the right controls and documentation are in place. It's influential, standards-driven work at the heart of the Alliance's cyber assurance.
What you'll do
- Advise project and system managers on security accreditation across the full lifecycle of NATO systems
- Act as the focal point between the Agency and NATO's Security Accreditation Authorities and Boards
- Run security risk assessments — identify threats and vulnerabilities, weigh residual risk, recommend how to manage it
- Plan and manage the full accreditation documentation set (system description, accreditation plan, risk assessment reports, security requirements, SecOps and test plans)
- Brief stakeholders and senior management as the subject-matter expert
- Track deliverables through monthly sprints and progressively hand your knowledge to the internal team
What you'll bring
- A degree in information security, telecommunications or electronics — or equivalent experience plus CISSP, CISA or CISM
- 2+ years accrediting major systems within acquisition or development programmes
- 2+ years applying security risk-assessment methodologies and tools
- 2+ years designing and implementing security for major systems
- Confident written and spoken English, and strong briefing skills
- Nice to have: cyber, network and cloud security depth; ISO/IEC 27001; knowledge of NATO security policy
- An active (or obtainable) NATO Secret clearance
If proving that critical systems are safe to trust sounds like your kind of challenge, we'd love to hear from you — apply and we'll be in touch quickly if it's a fit.
