Core GIS Instructor for NATO with security clearance

The NATO Communications and Information Academy (NCI Academy) located in Oeiras, Portugal currently delivers NATO technical and operational training on a variety of hardware and software systems. In the light of these activities, the NCI Academy is looking to outsource the delivery of name of the course training, as well as the development and updates of the training materials, the management of course iterations and to provide SME support to NATO and National HQ as required. The work shall involve Core GIS User training delivery, iteration management, courseware development and maintenance.
Responsibilities:
Course Delivery: Conduct official Core GIS user training courses at the NCI Academy in Oeiras, Portugal, utilizing accredited course control documentation, schedules, and materials.
Material Development & Update: Proactively update all training materials (handbooks, worksheets, lesson plans, presentations) to reflect new software versions and functionalities. Develop new content as required, in coordination with the Core GIS team.
Curriculum Adaptation: Review and adapt course content to ensure alignment with evolving Performance, Enabling, and Learning Objectives. Execute major reorganizations of course modules and schedules as needed.
Instructional Excellence: Apply modern pedagogical techniques and tools to deliver engaging and effective training to a diverse military and civilian audience.
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
At least 5 years’ experience working with the full DOTMLPFI aspects of the CoreGIS programme, particularly the Core GIS CONOPs and SOPs, and how these considerations affect the diverse training audience.
At least 5 years’ hands-on experience in and knowledge of operating a CoreGIS Cartographic Workshop (CWS) in support of operations and exercises in a NATO context.
Fluency in English and ability to read and write technical and user documentation.
At least 5 years’ experience in updating and creating training content and courseware that adheres to NATO standards as defined in Bi-Strategic Command Directive (Bi-SC Directive) 075-007.
Desirable qualifications & experience:
Technical competence in both CoreGIS Desktop and server components.
Experience delivering the existing NCI Academy Core GIS curriculum (3+ years desired).
Formal instructional qualification (e.g., NATO CIS Technical Instructor).
Knowledge of modern educational technology and authoring tools.
Prior working experience with the NCI Agency and/or NCI Academy.
Experience working in an international, military-civilian environment.
