Senior Deployable Communications Infrastructure Engineer (DevOps) for NATO with security clearance
Be the senior engineer and last line of escalation on deployable communications infrastructure — designed, automated, and proven on live exercises.
Deployable communications infrastructure has an unforgiving test: it either works in the field, on the exercise, when it is needed, or it does not. This role is the senior engineering contribution to that — design and build in a DevOps environment, then go and prove it.
It is explicitly a senior post. You would be the person junior engineers escalate to, the one who leads technical support teams through exercises, and the one who writes down how it all actually works.
What you would be doing
- Provide professional and technical contribution to the design, development and execution of deployable communications engineering projects.
- Work in a DevOps environment — continuous integration, continuous change management, deployment automation and system monitoring.
- Support junior staff across incident, service request and problem management as the senior engineer and ultimate problem solver.
- Provide engineering support to plan and execute approved exercises, on site or remotely.
- Document the designs and implementations of the services you own, plus troubleshooting guides.
- Plan, schedule, participate in and lead technical support teams for projects and exercises.
- Give on-the-job training to keep the support capability sharp.
- Deputise for higher-grade staff when required.
What we are looking for
- A bachelor's degree from a recognised university in a related discipline plus two years of relevant experience — or, in place of the degree, demonstrable ability and experience of real interest in this field.
- Deployable or field communications infrastructure experience.
- Genuine DevOps practice: automation, monitoring, continuous change.
- The seniority to lead a support team through an exercise and be the final escalation.
The role is full time on site in Mons, Belgium, from the end of September to the end of December 2026.
