Cloud Engineer for NATO

Responsibilities:
Working with the IT team to identify and implement the most optimal cloud-based solutions for the organization
Supporting the planning, designing, and developing cloud-based applications
Managing the cloud environment in accordance with the organization’s security guidelines
Supporting the deployment and debugging of cloud initiatives as needed in accordance with best practices throughout the development lifecycle
Leading and developing best practices for a larger cloud engineering team
Building and designing web services in the cloud
Orchestrating and automating cloud-based platforms throughout the organization.
Document cloud architecture, processes, and procedures to ensure clarity and consistency across the organization
Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily standups, retrospectives, backlog refinement, code reviews, and technical documentation using AzureDevOps or similar platforms
Work in cross-functional teams made by scientists, developers and engineers
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
A minimum requirement of a bachelor’s degree at a nationally recognised/certified University in an information systems, physics or electronics related scientific or engineering discipline, or other relevant scientific discipline, and 2 years post-related experience.
Strong experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies, Git workflows, code review processes, and collaboration tools (AzureDevOps, JIRA, GitHub, GitLab, etc.)
Professional experience as a Cloud Engineer or similar role on major Cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform)
Cloud certification from major vendors
Strong understanding of cloud security principles, including encryption, identity and access management, network security, and compliance.
Proficiency in scripting and automation tools (e.g., Python, Bash, Terraform, Ansible).
Professional experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
Awareness of networking and internet protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, SMTP, HTTP, and distributed networks
Strong communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Good level of spoken and written English
