The NATO Communications & Information Agency (NCIA) is seeking an experienced Infrastructure & Platform Support Engineer to provide hands-on IaaS and PaaS expertise for the Assurance Solutions Branch in The Hague. This role is critical in maintaining and enhancing NATO’s secure infrastructure, ensuring high availability, security compliance, and continuous improvement of platform services.

Responsibilities:

• Service Availability & Maintenance: Perform preventive and reactive maintenance, updates, patches, and bug fixes to ensure infrastructure and platform availability.

• Security Compliance: Align systems with NATO and NCIA security policies, support security accreditation activities, and enforce access management.

• Infrastructure as Code: Develop, maintain, and improve IaC for core systems, supporting automation, versioning, and orchestration tooling.

• Data Centre Operations: Conduct hardware inspections, cabling verification, cooling checks, and software/firmware updates. Maintain asset records.

• Service Support: Monitor services, resolve incidents, manage service requests, and provide support for lab environments and exercises.

• Collaboration: Work closely with service delivery managers, developers, engineers, and project managers to clarify requirements and prioritize tasks.

• Documentation: Update and maintain internal documentation, wikis, and configuration repositories.

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

• 5+ years as a DevOps/Infrastructure Engineer with IaaS/PaaS focus.

• Hands-on experience with:
  - CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Ansible, Terraform).
  - Kubernetes (Rancher) cluster administration.
  - Core services (LDAP/AD, DNS, NTP, WSUS, MECM).
  - Unix and Windows OS administration.
  - Data centre maintenance and operations.

• Experience with VMware stack, public cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP), and software-defined networking is desirable.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent communication skills in English (C1 level required).

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Proactive, adaptable, and detail-oriented personality.
