The CIS network administration technician for NATO with security clearance

The CIS Network Administration Technician is responsible for providing expert-level management, support, and maintenance of the network infrastructure (LAN). The role involves ensuring the secure, reliable, and efficient operation of network services in accordance with NATO and NCIA requirements. The technician will play a key role in incident resolution, network configuration, documentation, and ongoing system improvements to support NATO missions and training exercises
Responsibilities:
Perform daily management, monitoring, and support of network devices and infrastructure including switches, routers, firewalls, access points, and controllers.
Ensure the timely resolution of incidents in adherence to SLA response times, minimizing network downtime.
Develop, maintain, and update network configuration documentation, incident reports, and preventive maintenance plans.
Implement changes, upgrades, and new implementations based on project requirements and technical directives.
Maintain network security measures in compliance with NATO and organizational policies.
Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure network integrity, performance, and security.
Stay current with the latest network technologies and security standards; obtain and maintain relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA).
Support disaster recovery and business continuity plans, including testing and documentation.
Generate reports, performance summaries, and improvement proposals to enhance network operations.
Assist in strategic planning and technical guidance within the team.
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
Higher vocational education or higher degree in Information Technology or related fields.
Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience managing LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, and associated network technologies.
Deep knowledge of Ethernet, IP, OSPF, VLANs, MPLS, DNS, DHCP, VPN, SNMP protocols.
Proven experience with Cisco, HP, Juniper routers, switches, and firewalls.
Valid Cisco CCNA certification (or equivalent) and experience with network management and monitoring tools.
Strong understanding of network security policies and best practices.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Ability to work effectively in a team, follow procedures, and handle high-pressure situations with professionalism.
Attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and a proactive approach to maintenance and security.
