Training Development Officer — Electromagnetic Operations for NATO with security clearance
Take a brand-new training plan for electromagnetic operations and build the analysis, the workshops and the community that make it stick.
Electromagnetic operations is a fast-moving discipline, and the training behind it has to keep pace. A multinational defence organisation has just written a new training plan for it and is looking for the officer who will carry that plan from paper into delivery.
What you would be doing
- Turning the new training plan for the discipline into the follow-up actions and development work that make it real, under the guidance of the coherence lead.
- Drafting the discipline baseline report.
- Supporting the new training requirements analysis and writing the report that comes out of it.
- Planning and running the training needs analysis that closes the gaps the report finds.
- Identifying the community of interest and the target audiences across headquarters, commands and training facilities.
- Opening communication with neighbouring disciplines early, so that a gap gets covered once rather than three times.
- Planning and delivering the inaugural kick-off meeting and requirements analysis workshop.
- Producing the monthly situation reporting and the quarterly programme of work reporting.
What you would bring
- Real time in the electromagnetic operations domain, including developing, delivering or managing education and training in it.
- Higher vocational training in a relevant discipline with post-related experience behind it, or secondary education with more.
- Experience with a structured approach to training design — a systems approach to training or an equivalent development methodology.
- A track record developing, delivering or evaluating training programmes, with instructional technique you can demonstrate rather than describe.
- Competence in building training requirements, running training needs analysis and writing performance objectives.
- Experience organising and executing conferences, workshops and smaller professional events.
- Fluent English, and the writing to turn a procedure into documentation a user can follow without help.
- Comfort with office automation tools, collaboration portals and workflow features, and with learning management systems and web conferencing platforms.
- Nice to have: quality assurance inside an education and training context, conceptual and practical knowledge of military communication and information systems, and time spent in an international setting with both military and civilian colleagues.
Extensions are offered where the work goes well. Applications are reviewed as they arrive.
