Workplace Technology Technician (Windows, Group Policy, ITSM) for NATO with security clearance
Keep the desks working at a multinational defence site in Mons — devices, accounts and software packaging, on-site with the people you support.
Someone has to make the technology disappear into the background. That is this job.
You would look after the computing, printing and network kit that a multinational defence organisation in Mons, Belgium relies on every day — installing it, configuring it, and getting it working again when it stops. On-site, alongside the people you support.
What you would be doing
- Installing, maintaining and operating the full spread of workstations, printers and network devices behind the site's office automation services
- Setting up commercial software on networked and standalone machines, and the network client software on the local-network workstations
- Configuring local server software and the more awkward peripherals
- Creating and maintaining user access, and troubleshooting it for both fixed desks and mobile devices
- Working with organisational units in Active Directory and with group policy
- Handling support requests, work orders and whatever else the queue brings
- Packaging software so it deploys automatically rather than one machine at a time
- Contributing to security compliance and remediation work
- Feeding incident, change, configuration and asset management through the service-management toolkit
What you would bring
- CompTIA A+ or a Microsoft Certified IT Professional qualification
- Proven hands-on work with Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager
- Proven work with Active Directory objects, user accounts and permissions
- Three years in a communications and information systems environment
- Three years supporting users, desktop hardware and desktop software
- Three years in an IT administration role
- A solid grasp of how personal computers are built and rolled out
- Current operating systems and office automation software
Why this one is worth a look
It is a hands-on post at a site where the work is visible and the people you help sit in the same building. Support roles here tend to open doors into the wider infrastructure teams.
