Project Support Officer — Infrastructure Programme (ServiceNow, PRINCE2) for NATO with security clearance
Be the person who keeps a high-profile infrastructure project honest — baselines, plans, costs and the awkward questions that stop a slip becoming a surprise.
Project managers are only as good as the support behind them, and this is that post. You would work under the Head of Project Management on a portfolio of projects with one large infrastructure programme at the centre — keeping the plans current, the baselines properly managed, and the deviations visible while they are still small.
It suits someone precise by temperament: the sort who notices that a version number and a date disagree, chases the update nobody volunteered, and writes minutes people actually use afterwards.
What you would be doing
- Provide day-to-day project administration and support across the portfolio, with one major project at the centre.
- Support project planning, and perform or support time approvals once projects are in execution.
- Give financial administration support, including processing purchase requests when needed.
- Review project plans and cost estimates before they go out, and support the baselining process.
- Support project managers on planning, control, reporting and the business intelligence tools.
- Identify and escalate deviations from agreed plans, baselines, tolerances, milestones, costs, risks, issues and resource assumptions.
- Help analyse project metrics and the indicators used in internal and external reviews.
- Assist with resource levelling and give resource managers what they need to plan people properly.
What you would bring
- Proven project administration and support in a portfolio or multi-project environment on high-profile work, preferably within NATO.
- At least two years in a comparable post — or, exceptionally, five years of progressive experience in project administration, support, planning or control.
- Hands-on support to project baselining: reviewing plans and cost estimates before they are circulated.
- Experience with project metrics and indicator analysis for reviews.
- Extensive use of project planning toolsets, primarily ServiceNow, preferably in enterprise environments.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel and SharePoint — pivot tables, trackers, structured reporting.
- Familiarity with portfolio, programme and project management principles and planning methods.
- Clear written communication: minutes, action logs, reports and briefing inputs.
- The diplomatic persistence to get updates out of busy people and close actions.
PRINCE2 Foundation and Practitioner, or a PMI equivalent such as CAPM or PMP, is desirable, as is prior work in an international civil and military environment.
