Transition Planning and Support Manager (IT Programmes) for NATO with security clearance
Own how new IT services actually land — the transition strategy, the plans and the assurance that a multinational defence organisation relies on before anything goes live.
Plenty of organisations can build a service. Far fewer can land one safely. This role sits at exactly that point: a multinational defence organisation is putting new IT capability into live operation, and it needs someone who makes sure each one arrives on time, fully supportable and without nasty surprises.
You would help shape the organisation's Service Transition strategy, plans and policies, and then make them real across a portfolio of programmes and projects. That means guiding project teams on transition planning and support, reviewing proposals to make sure transition activity is actually in them rather than assumed, and holding the timeline when delivery pressure starts pushing against readiness.
What you would be doing
- Help create the Service Transition strategy, plans and policies, aligned to business objectives and to current industry practice.
- Give transition planning and support guidance to programmes and projects.
- Make sure transition activities are planned and executed on time.
- Review and update project proposals so transition planning and support is properly included.
- Support the Senior Transition and Assurance Manager in developing strategies and templates for implementing and evaluating IT transition planning and support.
- Deputise for senior management when required.
What we are looking for
- A bachelor's degree from a recognised university in a related discipline plus two years of relevant experience — or, in place of the degree, at least six years of extensive and progressive experience in this kind of work.
- At least two years in Service Management in a medium-to-large organisation.
- Extensive experience of Service Transition Management, ideally across more than one industry.
- A track record of advising on service management and service improvement techniques across different functions and processes.
- The ability to manage your time and keep quality high when the pressure is on.
The work is full time on site at Braine-l'Alleud, Belgium, from late September to the end of December 2026.
