Principal 5G & Network Architecture Consultant for NATO with security clearance

We are supporting a NATO programme focused on the future of secure communications, 5G/6G technologies, and next-generation military networks.
We are looking for an experienced Principal Engineer or Architect who combines deep technical expertise with the ability to analyse emerging technologies, develop architecture frameworks, and advise senior stakeholders.
This is a highly visible consulting assignment supporting NATO's Multinational Collaboration of 5G (MN5G) initiative.
What You Will Do
Support the development of Next Generation Network (NGN) architectures
Evaluate current and emerging 5G and 6G technologies for military applications
Develop technical studies, white papers, and architecture artefacts
Analyse secure communications concepts and network architectures
Conduct readiness assessments and technology maturity evaluations
Review Network Management and Cyber Defence concepts
Present findings and recommendations to NATO stakeholders
Contribute to future communication strategies and capability development
What We Are Looking For
10+ years of experience in communications systems, network architecture, or telecommunications engineering
Strong expertise in 5G, mobile communications, or next-generation networking
Experience designing large-scale communication and information systems
Strong understanding of security architecture and secure communications
Experience with enterprise architecture or capability architecture
Experience preparing technical reports, studies, and architecture documentation
Strong stakeholder communication and presentation skills
Ability to work independently in a highly specialised consulting role
Highly Desirable
Military, defence, government, or critical infrastructure experience
Experience with NATO or multinational programmes
Knowledge of readiness assessments, technology maturity models, or capability development frameworks
Experience with deployable communications systems
Understanding of cloud, virtualization, monitoring, and interoperability frameworks
