CIS Technician (Operations & Exercises) for NATO with security clearance

The CIS Technician (Operations & Exercises) position is a hands-on, mission-critical role supporting NATO’s exercise and event activities in Norfolk, VA. The technician will be integral to the planning, deployment, and support of CIS (Communications and Information Systems) infrastructure during military exercises, conferences, and other ad-hoc events. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, operational coordination, and experience working within NATO CIS environments.
Responsibilities:
Exercise Support
Supports Local Technical Support teams in build-up, deployment and tear-down activities related to exercises.
Assists in planning support of local exercise requirements.
Assists in maintaining CSU Norfolk annual exercise calendar and exercise support planning documents.
Assist in site surveys and collecting lessons identified.
Assist logisticians by receiving and storing CIS equipment and controlling access to it.
Ad-Hoc events support
Coordinates all CIS requirements in relation to set up, deployment and tear-down activities related to events and conferences.
Works with CSU change coordinators and local technical teams to assess customer requirements and provide response to customer requests for support.
Assist in maintaining overview of ad-hoc event support activity and effort throughout the year.
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
Minimum 3 years' experience working in an ICT CIS environment.
Minimum 3 years' experience supporting IT users, desktop hardware and software.
Minimum 3 years' experience working in an IT administration role.
Minimum 3 years' experience supporting NATO exercises as IT staff
Experience of providing hands on technical assistance across a diverse range of CIS equipment including but not limited to Workstations, Laptops, scanners, printers and VTC equipment.
Background and experience in NATO static and deployable CIS equipment and networks.
Working knowledge of policy, procedures, and organization of NATO CIS.
Working knowledge of ITIL processes and procedures (incident, change, configuration and asset management)
Working knowledge of ITSM ticketing tools (BMC Remedy).
Working knowledge of Active Directory.
Working knowledge of SharePoint would be advantageous.
Working knowledge of current operating systems and office automation software.
