Senior Network Architect (FAS Management) with security clearance

As a Senior Network Architect within the G6 branch of 1(German/Netherlands) Corps, you will serve as the technical authority for the command's static and deployed network infrastructure. Reporting to the G6 Enterprise Lead Architect, you will be responsible for the end-to-end design, implementation, and management of critical networks from both software and hardware perspectives. Your expertise will ensure robust connectivity, seamless interoperability of national and NATO C2 systems through Functional Area Services (FAS), and the overall security and resilience of the information domains that underpin the headquarters' operational capability.
Responsibilities:
Act as the lead network architect for all static information domains of 1GNC Peacetime Locations (PTL), with responsibility extending to deployed domains as required.
Design, implement, and manage static networks from both software and hardware perspectives.
Plan, prepare, and execute the provision and maintenance of interoperability between national and international (NATO) Command and Control (C2) systems.
Provide expert advice to project teams on the deployment of national and multinational systems, focusing on FAS interoperability, security compliance, and risk assessment.
Develop network architecture strategies and roadmaps that align with Federated Mission Networking (FMN) requirements and future operational needs.
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
Proven experience in IT-architecture.
Proven working experience in a multi-national environment
Knowledge about or experience with NATO Networking Infrastructure and Digital Communication.
Certificate in ITIL Foundation.
Experience with and courses completed for Functional Area Services (FAS) Operational Usage.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Advanced English skills
Nice to have:
Knowledge of strategic and tactical communications networls (esp. NLD, DEU and NATO) is preferred.
Functional Area Services (FAS) Operational Usage Overview (ETOC Course ID: CCC-CI-37006) is preferred.
NATO Networking Infrastructure (ETOC Course ID: CCC-DC-32237) is preferred.
Digital Communication (JADL113) (ETOC Course ID: CCC-DC-22276) is preferred.
Working experience in military divisional or corps environment is preferred.
Knowledge of NATO Functional Area Services and Federated Mission (FMN) requirements is preferred.
NATO C4ISR Technology Orientation (ETOC Course ID: CCC-SM-22206) is preferred.
MS SharePoint User Training (ETOC Course ID: CCC-ET-32336) is preferred.
Certification in network architecture is preferred.
University or bachelor degree in communications and/or information science is preferred.
Proficiency in the German language is preferred.
Experience in cloud computing is preferred.
Experience in virtualisation technologies is preferred.
Experience in firewall configuration and management is preferred.
Working experience with Windows / Linux is preferred.
