UX designer for NATO

The Centre for Maritime Research and Experimentation (CMRE) is an established, world-class scientific research and experimentation facility that organizes and conducts scientific research and technology development centred on the maritime domain. It delivers innovative and field-tested science and technology (S&T) solutions to address defence and security needs of the Alliance.
Responsibilities:
Design research, service design, or strategic design roles with deep expertise in qualitative methodologies and design thinking frameworks.
Lead comprehensive user research to uncover needs, behaviours, and pain points across diverse stakeholder groups
Facilitate workshops and design sessions to build cross-functional alignment and drive consensus
Guide teams to concrete product decisions through structured design thinking
Design intuitive, accessible interfaces by translating research insights into wireframes, prototypes, and production-ready visual designs
Collaborate cross-functionally to iterate and implement designs by working with Engineering to ensure feasibility and rapidly refining solutions based on feedback
Synthesize findings into actionable design principles, user stories, and prioritized requirements
Define and own the product vision, translating insights into a coherent strategy that guides development
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
A minimum requirement of a bachelor’s degree at a nationally recognised/certified University in an information systems, physics or electronics related scientific or engineering discipline
A minimum of 3 years of UX design experience with a portfolio showcasing complex B2B or enterprise projects, particularly data-heavy applications and visualizations.
Strong facilitation and storytelling skills to align diverse stakeholders and senior leadership
Deep expertise in relevant discipline methodologies and best practices
Professional experience working effectively in cross-functional agile teams
Very good level of spoken and written English
