IT & Digital Transformation Director
Do you want to be part of an innovative digital project that is transforming how people access mobility services?
Our client is a leading provider in Central and Eastern Europe, offering mobility solutions that help businesses manage their fleets more effectively. They are creating a seamless digital experience that supports every step of the customer journey—from booking and managing vehicles to monitoring costs and optimizing fleet performance. Through innovative platforms such as customer portals and mobile apps, they provide real-time insights and connected tools that make mobility management easier, smarter, and more efficient.
We are seeking a strategic and hands-on IT & Digital Transformation Director to lead the charge in building the technological future of our client's operations. This pivotal role is responsible for shaping and executing the digital agenda, ensuring that technology serves as a powerful engine for business growth and operational excellence. You will be the key architect behind a robust, scalable IT environment that supports ambitious business objectives.Responsibilities:
- Strategy & Leadership: Define and execute the local IT and digitalization strategy that supports business objectives, ensuring alignment with the broader EU group strategy while adapting it pragmatically to our scale and budget.
- Business Partnership: Act as the key liaison between technology and the business (Sales, Operations, Finance), challenging needs, building strong business cases for investment, and ensuring technology enables commercial success.
- Vendor & Ecosystem Management: Lead the management of all IT vendors, outsourcing partners, and cloud providers. Ensure service excellence, cost-effectiveness, and that architectural standards and security are maintained across all third-party solutions.
- Infrastructure & Operations Oversight: Provide overall governance for IT infrastructure (networks, security, on-prem, cloud), support processes (1st/2nd/3rd line), and operations, ensuring reliability and performance while managing outsourced day-to-day operations.
- Transformation & Project Governance: Drive key digitalization projects (e.g., cloud migration, application integration, identity management, workflows, genAI) from conception to delivery, implementing best practices in project management.
- Financial Management: Develop and manage the IT budget, P&L, and forecasting. Conduct cost-benefit analyses for all technology investments, clearly demonstrating ROI and total cost of ownership.
- Team Leadership: Manage small team (IT service management, ERP support, project management office), fostering a culture of business value delivery, pragmatism, and continuous improvement.
Who We Are Looking For:
- Proven experience in a Senior Leadership role with a strong focus on digital transformation and business partnering.
- Background in automotive, banking, or insurance industries strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of the link between IT and business, able to articulate and deliver business value through technology.
- A unique blend of strategic vision and hands-on pragmatism. You are equally comfortable discussing high-level architecture with group experts and diving into details to solve a critical issue.
- Extensive experience in vendor management, negotiating contracts, and managing outsourced IT services and infrastructure.
- Solid understanding of modern IT concepts: hybrid hosting model (cloud/on-prem, including legacy ERP systems), integration patterns (APIs, microservices, IAM), cybersecurity, enterprise architecture, machine learning/genAI tooling, data governance and management best practices. You don't need to be a deep technical expert but must be able to credibly manage experts and vendors.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence, negotiate, and explain complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Leadership mentality: A proactive, driver personality who takes ownership. You are willing to be hands-on when needed and lead by example, without considering any task beneath you
- Experience with budgets and P&L management (preferred)
- Results-driven, process-oriented, and business-focused.
- A true driver of digital transformation and a trusted partner to top management
- Fluency in English is mandatory
