We are seeking a proactive and skilled Security Engineer to join our client's security team. In this role, you will assist in designing and implementing security solutions, enhance existing security practices, and support development teams in integrating security testing tools and processes. You will perform both manual and automated security testing, validate vulnerabilities, and ensure the security of applications throughout the development lifecycle.
Key responsibilities:
- Security Solution Design & Implementation: Assist in the design, implementation, and continuous enhancement of security solutions and methodologies to safeguard applications and infrastructure.
- Security Testing: Perform manual and automated security testing, including vulnerability validation and penetration testing, to identify and mitigate risks.
- Support Development Teams: Guide development teams in adopting security testing tools, methodologies, and best practices for secure software development.
- Security Upskilling: Upskill teams in security testing techniques and assist with the integration of security into the development lifecycle.
- Vulnerability Management: Review and validate vulnerabilities identified through security testing, triage findings, and work with stakeholders to ensure effective remediation.
- Tool Integration & Automation: Assist with onboarding teams to Static Application Security Testing (SAST) and Dynamic Application Security Testing (DAST), as well as orchestrating scans with CI/CD pipelines.
- Reporting & Documentation: Create detailed reports on security testing results, outlining vulnerabilities, risks, and recommended remediation actions.
- Collaboration with Stakeholders: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, architects, and management, to ensure a comprehensive and proactive security posture.
We are happy to hear from you if you have:
- A minimum of 3–5 years of relevant industry experience in application security, security testing, or vulnerability management.
- Practical knowledge of security standards such as OWASP, information assurance, security management, and industry best practices.
- Understanding of network protocols, data encryption methods, and familiarity with programming languages such as Java, .NET, and Python.
- Experience in performing tool-assisted application security testing (e.g., SAST, DAST), and manual penetration tests.
- Proficiency in identifying and reporting vulnerabilities, and assisting developers in the remediation process.
- Experience with security tools for vulnerability scanning, penetration testing, and integration with CI/CD platforms.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, with a structured approach to security testing and vulnerability management.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate security risks and solutions effectively to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CEH, or similar
- A university or college degree in computer science, information security, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, certification, and experience.
